Compare the common material families
PLA
- What you get
- Clean detail, smooth color, and a polished finish at a practical price.
- Know before choosing
- Best indoors. It can soften in a hot vehicle or near direct heat and is not the first choice for long outdoor exposure.
- Good fits
- Indoor signs, logo displays, awards, décor, keepsakes, prototypes, and detailed models.
PETG
- What you get
- A strong all-around choice with a little flex, useful moisture resistance, and better heat tolerance than standard PLA.
- Know before choosing
- The surface is often glossier than PLA. For constant sun and weather, ASA may be a better fit.

TPU

PC / Polycarbonate
